Today’s Prayer
So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. —Isaiah 55:11 (NIV)
Dear Heavenly Father, your Word is pure and holy. Through it we have the opportunity to find Jesus, our Savior. Equip your missionaries, both here and abroad, with all the tools and wisdom they need to spread your Word and truth around the world. Bless them and fill them with the Holy Spirit so that they accomplish all you sent them out to do. May we all be your missionaries and take advantage of every opportunity given us to tell others about you. Give us courage, wisdom, and knowledge to help spread your Word. Come, Holy Spirit, work in all of us so that the news of Jesus is heard, takes hold, and grows. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Mission & Ministry Sunday
We are celebrating the mission work that we do as a synod today. Pastor Tim Dolan is serving as our guest preacher and will lead Bible class. He is the Dean of Students at Luther Preparatory School but also serves as the chairman of the Native American Mission Administrative Committee. A door offering will be taken to support the mission work done among the Apache. We thank him for sharing God’s Word with us today.
Trunk or Treat Festival
Help reach out to families in our area by simply serving donuts and apple cider or helping kids decorate pumpkins. Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 27 from 1:00-3:30 pm. Many volunteers are needed to make this outreach event happen; sign up in the narthex to help out in a variety of ways. Various donations are also needed; please see the bulletin board in the narthex. Donations of candy can be put in the bin in the narthex.

Senior Moments
will be going to see a Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors volleyball game on Tuesday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. The cost for the game is only $3.00, so let's all come to cheer on Jenilee and her team! We'll stop at Mo's Irish Pub on 108th & Bluemound for dinner before the game. We will meet at church at 4:00 pm to carpool, so sign-up today so we know how many to expect and we'll make reservations for dinner.
Our November outing is coming up soon! We will be going to Delavan to see the Christmas Magic Dancing Horses show on Sunday, November 18 at 1:00 pm. The cost for both the horse show and the exotic bird show will be $27.50. We plan to leave immediately following Bible class at 11:30 am and will carpool to Delavan. We need to know how many will be going so we can purchase advance tickets, so sign up on the sheet in the narthex by November 4. You're welcome to bring kids and grandkids as this is a family-friendly show. If we have at least 20 going, we will get a discount on the tickets. Talk to Bob or Julie McGill if you have any questions.
