Today’s Prayer

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.  Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. —2 Chronicles 7:14-15 (NIV)

Help us, heavenly Father, to call on your name.  Show us how to humble ourselves, knowing that not us, but only you, can heal our country.  Help us to seek your face and pray to you for Christian direction and guidance for all our leaders running every part of our country.  Give us strength to turn from our wicked ways and follow you.  Allow us to join together so we can replace these wicked ways with Christian unity, enabling us to join together in prayer for the prosperity of our country. Father, strengthen us with this privilege to pray. Open your eyes toward our needs. Hear us, forgive us, and heal our land. May our prayers be pleasing to you for the sake of Jesus, our Prince of Peace, in whose name we pray.  Amen.
