Today’s Prayer

A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” —Luke 9:34 (NIV)

Heavenly Father, as I read the Bible, I sometimes wish I could have been there when Jesus walked on earth.  If I had seen your Son, Jesus, face-to-face, would I have actually believed that he was the Son of God?  Or would my vision of your Son, be as clouded as his appearance must have been when enveloped in this dense cloud?  So, Father, here we are in 2019 and our spiritual vision is clouded by sin until we see Jesus face-to-face in heaven. But the message left from your voice is still the same today as it was at Transfiguration: “This is my Son, whom I have chosen. Listen to him!”  Thank you, Father, for the Bible.  I know that through the Bible, I will learn how to walk and talk with Jesus and see him as clearly as possible while still on earth. Amen.
