Today’s Prayer
You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.—Psalm 30:11-12 (NIV)
Dear heavenly Father, as long as I am living on earth, I will be faced with painful situations. Pain and sorrow are inevitable emotions with the loss of a loved one, when faced with unfortunate health news, when loved ones make bad choices, and in many other situations. But you LORD—and you only—can change my wailing into dancing. Through you, LORD of life and death, is the strength found to see joy again. Just knowing that you will never leave me nor forsake me carries me through this dark tunnel. And when, LORD, I see those days of joy again, may I sing your praises loud and clear so that others may know there is a God who loves them and who will also carry them through the toughest of times. All this I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
