Today’s Prayer

Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.'"—John 14:23 (NIV)

Heavenly Father, I do love your Son, Jesus.  I love him knowing he loved me first. He died on the cross FOR ME and then rose again to open the gates of heaven FOR ME.  My salvation is sure through your Son, Jesus.  Help me to show my love by obeying all your teachings.  Send your Holy Spirit to guide me in Christian living so you will find my heart a comfortable home in which to stay.  Come Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and stay with me. Amen.

September 8 Voters Meeting

At its August meeting, Council entertained a motion to approve a local bid for our projector replacement. The bid's professional opinion is not to square off the sacristy walls but to leave them at the current angle. While the Council is confident in that recommendation, it is different than what the voters approved in June. Therefore, for the sake of good order and communication, the Council is calling for a brief and special one item voters meeting on September 8 to entertain this bid with a layout that keeps our angled walls. The meeting will occur after worship and before Bible Study.

Senior Moments

The summer concert in the park and potluck picnic will be today Sunday, August 25. The concert will begin at 2:00 pm at Lions Legend Park in Franklin. Swing Nouveau will perform sounds from the 30s, 40s, 50s, and today. Following the concert we will go to Ken and Sue Gawrisch's house for games and a potluck picnic. Bring your lawn chairs and a dish to pass. As in the past the meat (brats and burgers) will be provided.

Beginning in September, Janeen Roska’s hours in the office will typically be Wednesdays from 3:30-6:00 pm and Fridays from 1:00-3:30 pm.  Feel free to contact her at church@livingwaterlutheran.com or on her cell phone outside of these hours. If you would like to meet with her in the office, please call, text, or email ahead of time.

Blood Drive

We are looking into the possibility of hosting a blood drive sponsored by Versiti (formerly the Blood Center of Wisconsin).  This would be a great opportunity to be a part of our community.  There needs to be enough interest in the blood drive in order for this to be feasible.  If you would be interested in participating, please sign up in the narthex and indicate the times when you would be able to donate.
