Today’s Prayer
I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
Praise be to you, Lord; teach me your decrees.
—Psalm 119:10-12 (NIV)
Dear heavenly Father, you do not stray from me, but I stray from you. I have my own agenda. Send me your Son, Jesus, to be my friend, to walk with me, and to teach me your ways. With Jesus by my side it will be much easier to see and follow your commands. Send your Holy Spirit to enlighten me of all your decrees, that I may not only know them, but also live them and share them. With this help, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I will continually praise you. Amen.
Tough Questions, Gospel-Established Answers
There are few things worse than not being able to answer an important question, especially spiritual ones. Whether it's talking with someone or just doing some soul-searching, it's painful to be uncertain. We've begun a Bible study series on Romans which will help us answer tough questions. Each week, the Holy Spirit will give us gospel-established answers that help us tackle the tough questions others ask us about our faith... and the questions we ask ourselves. Today's question is: "What does God say about homosexuality?"
Fall Work Day
We will have a Fall Work Day this Saturday, September 28 beginning at 8:00 am. Many hands make light work.
October Newsletter
Please submit information for the October newsletter by Sunday, September 22.
Handbells Begins
The handbell season has begun, and there is still plenty of room for new ringers—high school age and older. If you can count to 4 and know your right hand from your left, we'd love to have you give it a try! We play once a month for worship on Sunday mornings. Questions can be directed to Tracy Hankwitz.
Adult Choir
After many years, Neil Hankwitz has stepped down from directing Adult Choir. We thank him for his many years of faithful service! Rehearsals for this year will begin on October2. We will practice on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 pm. If you enjoy singing and Christian fellowship and can carry a tune, please consider joining Adult Choir. If you have questions, please contact Janeen Roska.
Trunk or Treat October 26
Mark your calendars on October 26, 1:00-3:30 p.m. for our annual Trunk or Treat event. At trunk or Treat children of our congregation and community can trick-or-treat out of members' decorated trunks. It's part of our outreach efforts but is also good fellowship for our members! More information will be coming soon.
