Today’s Prayer
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
—Psalm 51:11-12 (NIV)
Dear heavenly Father, sometimes we stray from your presence. We find many reasons not to worship you in church and have fellowship with other Christians. Please, Father, fill us with your Holy Spirit that we may be aware of how much we need your presence. Fill us with the joy of knowing our salvation is sure through the grace of your Son, Jesus Christ. Let us always pray for others that they too may know of your love and mercy and that they find joy both in worshiping you and also in their fellowship with other Christians. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

As You Seat Yourself
When sitting down for worship, we kindly encourage you to keep in mind three groups of people: visitors, families with young children, and fellow members. When we sit towards the middle of the pews and leave spaces at the ends, it is easier for first-time visitors to quickly find a spot. When we leave the rear pews open on both sides for families with young children, it is easier for those families to quickly access the nursery room when they want. When we make our pre-service conversations friendly but also at a respectable noise level, it is easier for our brothers and sisters in Christ to pray and prepare for worship. As we keep in mind our visitors, our families, and all our worshipers, we not only create a friendly worship environment but also honor our God. May he bless our worship today!
WinGS
Women in God’s Service will have a “Fast 15” meeting today, October 6 during fellowship. All ladies are invited! WinGS is also hosting a free cooking demonstration at church on Thursday, October 10 at 6:00 pm. Food will be prepared by a plant based chef and food for life instructor. Come hungry, we will be eating the delicious food being prepared! Feel free to bring any guests that you would like! If you plan to attend please add your name to the sign-up sheet in the narthex so that we have an estimate for ordering the food.
Open Forum & Voters’ Meeting
The church council has completed a Bible Study that was geared to developing a new mission statement. There will be a special Open Forum/Voters’ Meeting on October 13 to review portions of the Bible Study as well as to present and to adopt a new Mission Statement. The mission statement is the first step in developing the future ministry plan.

Five Minutes, Valuable Help
In just five minutes of your time, you could help provide valuable feedback for our congregation’s outreach efforts. Please take time to complete it and help our outreach leader evaluate the past and plan for future ways that we can be Christ’s witnesses. You can complete the survey online. It is helpful for us in collecting the information if you do take the survey online.
Jesus Cares
Living Water is excited to start the 12th year of Jesus Cares! The theme this year is “The God of Living Water.” Jesus Cares meets on the 3rd Monday of the month from October through May from 6:00—7:00 pm. We hear a devotion, learn a Bible story, sing songs, and make crafts. If you are interested in signing up a participant or volunteering, you can contact Kristen Moldenhauer. Prayers for the growth of this amazing program are so appreciated!
Mission and Ministry Sunday
The official Vietnam government has invited WELS to start a theological training center for Hmong people in Vietnam. Pastor E. Allen Sorum, a professor at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, will be our guest preacher on October 20 & 21 and will present during Bible class on this exciting effort in Vietnam. A freewill offering to support the work in Vietnam will also be taken.
