Today’s Prayer

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. —2 Corinthians 12:9(NIV)

Dear heavenly Father, I sometimes feel so weak when it comes to telling others about you.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit that I may have correct and kind words to speak to others who may or may not know you.  Yes, actions are important, but so also are my words. In my weakness I need a confidence that comes from the Holy Spirit who makes my words flow concerning your greatness, your grace, and your salvation.  Fill the hearer of my words with the Holy Spirit that they may be receptive and open to these words you fill me with.  Finally, Father, grant me opportunities to share my faith.  In Jesus’ name I pray . Amen.

As You Seat Yourself

When sitting down for worship, we kindly encourage you to keep in mind three groups of people: guests, families with young children, and fellow members. When we sit towards the middle of the pews and leave spaces at the ends, it is easier for first-time guests to quickly find a spot. When we leave the rear pews open on both sides for families with young children, it is easier for those families to quickly access the nursery room when they want. When we make our pre-service conversations friendly but also at a respectable noise level, it is easier for our brothers and sisters in Christ to pray and prepare for worship. As we keep in mind our guests, our families, and all our worshipers, we not only create a friendly worship environment but also honor our God. May he bless our worship today!

Open Forum & Voters’ Meeting

The church council has completed a Bible Study that was geared to developing a new mission statement. There will be a special Open Forum/Voters’ Meeting today, October 13 to review portions of the Bible Study as well as to present and to adopt a new Mission Statement. The mission statement is the first step in developing the future ministry plan.

Trunk or Treat October 26

Join us on October 26, 1:00-3:30 pm for our annual Trunk or Treat event. At Trunk or Treat, children of our congregation and community can trick-or-treat out of members' decorated trunks. Sign-up sheet for volunteers and donations are in the narthex. Candy can be dropped off in the large bin.  Posters to hang in local businesses and postcards to hand to friends are also available in the narthex.

Five Minutes, Valuable Help

In just five minutes of your time, you could help provide valuable feedback for our congregation’s outreach efforts. Please take time to complete it and help our outreach leader evaluate the past and plan for future ways that we can be Christ’s witnesses. You can complete the survey online.  It is helpful for us in collecting the information if you do take the survey online.  If you do not have internet access, you can fill out a paper copy found in the lobby.
