Today’s Prayer
“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.” —Jeremiah 31:33 (NIV)
Dear heavenly Father, fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I may know your laws, live them, and walk in them. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, do not remember the times I failed to do so. As you write your laws in my heart, may my heart burn with a love for you and a passion to serve others out of love for you. Help me to keep my eyes on you only to the extent that you will be my only God. As I live in service to you, Father, may others notice that I am one of your own and come to want to know you also. In Jesus’ name do I pray. Amen.
November Newsletter
Please pick up your November newsletter in the narthex.
In The End
End of life questions unsettle us, and millions around the world wonder if climate change soon will end the world. Thankfully God did not leave us guessing about what happens to us at the end of life or at the end of the world. We dedicate November’s four Sundays to topics that deal with the end of our earthly lives and the end of this world, and God makes it clear – in the end, everything for the Christian will be OK.
Women in God’s Service
will have their next FAST 15 minute meeting today, November 3 in the library following worship. All women are welcome. Join us on this week, Thursday, November 7 beginning at 6:00 pm. Dinner will be provided and then we will write greeting cards to all the ladies of the congregation. If you have blank note cards with envelopes that you would like to donate, please contact Kathi Boziel.
Thanksgiving
Thank and praise God for his many blessings. Thanksgiving Worship will be held on Wednesday, November 27 at 6:30 pm. A pie social will be held following the service. Enjoy a slice of pie while visiting with fellow church members. Please consider baking (or purchasing) an extra pie to share that evening. A sign-up sheet is in the narthex.
Fall Yard Cleanup
As in past years we are looking for people to assist some of our members with their fall yard clean-up. A date for this activity will be set once the majority of the leaves have fallen. This is a great opportunity for our members to serve their Lord, help out some of our members in need, and enjoy some fellowship. Teenagers, does your school require any community service work as part of their curriculum? This would count toward that. Even if it isn't required, we'd be glad to see you there!
Scrip Order
You can raise funds for our Tuition Assistance Fund through your regular shopping—gas, groceries, and more. Scrip is a program where you buy gift cards, and a percentage of the gift cards is donated to Living Water. Those funds are added to our Tuition Assistance Fund. Order forms are available in the narthex. Orders are due Sunday, November 3.
Fellowship Hosting
Members of Living Water enjoy Fellowship on Sundays after worship. More than just enjoying coffee and snacks, it is an opportunity to build relationships with each other. Fellowship hosts help this time run smoothly. Detailed instructions on what hosting includes are in the narthex and are posted in the kitchen. Please consider signing up to serve in this way.
November Forward in Christ Available
Forward in Christ is the official magazine of our Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). In monthly editions, WELS pastors and lay members address important issues facing Christians today through a variety of content including devotions, questions and answers, editorials, confessions of faith, and more! Opportunities to Give
Over the past holiday seasons, Living Water has participated in various free-will opportunities to give to those outside our congregation. Similar chances will be made available again this year. Keep an eye on opportunities in the coming month, if you are moved to give.
