Today’s Prayer

[John the Baptist] said to them, "...The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire." —Matthew 3:7,10 (NIV)

Dear heavenly Father, if you are going to compare me to a tree, please make me a great, sturdy tree with deep roots so I will not easily topple over when the storms come.  Give me roots nourished by your Word and branches reaching up in the sky praising you. Make me to produce fruit which I can easily offer to everyone I meet - fruit to grow on, like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control.  Use these fruits to bring others to know you and thus be saved from the fire also. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Christmas for Kids

Our Christmas for Kids event will happen this Saturday, December 14. For parents, Christmas for Kids can be free babysitting, freeing you up to do some errands or have a quiet cup of coffee somewhere. We could use a few more volunteers on that Saturday.  Some donations are also needed.  There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex. Contact Dan Hanke with questions.   You can register your child to attend on our website.  Invite family and friends with the postcard invitations that are available in the narthex.
