Today’s Prayer

The people walking in darkness
    have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
    a light has dawned. —Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)

Dear Heavenly Father, we have all been born into the darkness of our sins.  Through baptism, your light has been poured into us by the Holy Spirit.  Through faith in Jesus Christ, we no longer live in darkness, but now live in the light of Jesus.  Accept our prayers, Father, for this world that seems to live in darkness.  Be with us and show us how to spread this light, so that we may become a little beacon of hope shining in this great darkness.  All this we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
