Today’s Prayer

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. —John 3:17 (NIV)

Dear heavenly Father, we come before you today with thanksgiving for sending your Son, Jesus, who has given us eternal life in you.  We pray today for all our friends and loved ones who do not know you. Perhaps they knew you at one time but have fallen to their own ways.  Perhaps they feel no need for you in their lives.  Father, we know so many.  We pray that they may see your grace, your blessings, your mercy, and your face and then turn back to you.  Send us your Holy Spirit to encourage us, enlighten us, and use us when possible to show them the way to your son, Jesus.  We ask all this Father, in the precious name of your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Midweek Lenten Worship

The church season of Lent begins on Wednesday, February 26 with Ash Wednesday.  Midweek Lenten worship services will be held on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm during the six weeks of Lent.  Ash Wednesday will also include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.  The midweek services will reflect on “The Son of God Goes Forth to War.” Pastor Pufahl from Christ, Big Bend, and Pastor Rue from St. Paul’s, East Troy, will be preaching here as part of a rotation.

Midweek Fellowship Meals

Free fellowship dinners will be held each Wednesday before the midweek Lenten services.  This is a great opportunity to get to know other members while not having to worry about making dinner.  Senior Moments will be hosting a potluck on Wednesday, February 26.  Adult Choir is hosting soup and sandwiches on March 4. Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board under “Ways to Get Involved.”

Blood Drive

Versiti (formerly Blood Center of Wisconsin) will be hosting a blood drive at church on Thursday, March 5.  If you would like to sign up to donate, you can do so here.  Watch for ways that you can volunteer.

Christian Education Survey

Church Council continues to evaluate and improve our efforts to carry out our mission statement. God's Word commands all Christians to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus" (2 Peter 3:18).  Living Water's Christian education efforts play a part in both of those.  Therefore, we developed a survey to gather your feedback as it relates to our Christian education programs. Your answers to this survey will help us evaluate and plan our congregation's Christian education efforts.  The survey should only take about 5-10 minutes of your time.  This is the same survey that was emailed on January 31.  Paper copies are available in the gathering space, (narthex) or can be accessed here. Thank you for your effort to assist our congregation to carry out our mission statement as it relates to Christian education!

Looking for Volunteers for Outreach

We are looking for 4-6 members (male or female) to join an Outreach Committee. Primary duties would be brainstorming, planning, and evaluating outreach strategies and activities. A love for Jesus, his Word, and souls is necessary; training will be provided. If interested, please contact Tim Gauerke.

 Displaying Mission Statement

We are looking for a member who is artistically gifted to help display the new Mission Statement in the gathering area (narthex). We are looking for your insight in the best way to accomplish that. Please contact one of the council members if you are interested.
