Today’s Prayer

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” —Matthew 4:10 (NIV)

Dear Heavenly Father, I realize there are so many ways Satan wants to weasel his way into tempting us.  We are constantly bombarded with temptations:  you’ll win the big jackpot, if…; instant winner when you do…; it’s exactly what you need; one more won’t hurt; no one will find out, etc.  This is all Satan.  Help us to make complete 180 degree turns back to you, Father, the next time we are tempted.  Help us to realize that no earthy gratification will make us happy, truly happy.  Worshiping you and serving you only will give us true peace and happiness.  Help us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus so we can say “no” to temptation and “yes” to your service.  We pray in Jesus’ name  Amen.

Midweek Lenten Worship

Midweek Lenten worship services will continue on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm during the six weeks of Lent.  The midweek services will reflect on “The Son of God Goes Forth to War.” Pastor Pufahl from Christ, Big Bend, and Pastor Rue from St. Paul’s, East Troy, will be preaching here as part of a rotation.
